B2G1 Free Graphic Novels: Dune, Treehouse Of Horror, Dark Souls, TMNT, And 100 More Deals
Amazon’s latest buy two, get one free book sale is one of the retailer’s best yet, especially when it comes to graphic novels. It’s the perfect time to stock your shelves and cross off names on your holiday shopping list. We rounded up a big list of graphic novels and comics collections featured in Amazon’s B2G1 free sale. While Prime Big Deal Days ended on Wednesday night, the B2G1 free promotion is active through Saturday, October 12. Amazon’s sale coincides with Target’s B2G1 free books offer for Circle Week.
We separated the list into smaller sections focused on specific series, franchises, themes, or beloved authors. From compendiums of Batman and Spider-Man to graphic novel adaptations of beloved novels like Dune and The Dark Tower, we tried to choose a nice mix of classics and relatively newer franchises. You’ll also find some horror comics collections, including Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead Compendiums as well as tales of terror with a comedic bent, such as The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror and Stephen King’s Creepshow. We also collected a list of manga box sets at the end, as numerous standout box sets are B2G1 free: Demon Slayer, Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul: re, My Hero Academia, and Chainsaw Man.

The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror Omnibuses
If watching the annual Treehouse of Horror anthologies is one of your Halloween traditions, you should check out the comic book series by series creator Matt Groening. These comics tell different stories than the ones you see on TV, so you’d simply be getting more Treehouse of Horror this year. Volumes 2 and 3 of the 400-plus page Ominous Omnibuses are included in the B2G1 free sale. Volume 3 just released in August, so it’s a bit surprising to see it included. Each hardcover book comes with a glow-in-the-dark slipcase. You don’t need to read them in order, but it ‘s worth noting you can get Volume 1 for only $20 right now. For your freebie, you could snag Volume 1 of the Colossal Compendium series.

Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead & Invincible Compendiums
If you love The Walking Dead and haven’t read Robert Kirkman’s original comic book series it was based on, this deal is for you. Three of the four compendiums comic book series are eligible for B2G1 free. Unfortunately, the first compendium isn’t one of them. Fortunately, it has a bonus coupon discount right now, dropping the price to only $22.66. That means you can snag the complete series for $100. Each book eclipses 1,000 pages, so you’re getting a lot for your money.
Prime Video’s Invincible is one of the best ongoing animated series for adults. Invincible is also based on comic book series by Kirkman, and it also has massive, 1,000-plus page compendiums up for grabs in the B2G1 free sale.
TMNT: The IDW Collection & The Last Ronin Series
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans can start or continue their collection of IDW’s long-running comic book series that is very close to reaching its 300th issue. Beyond the IDW series, you can pick up The Last Ronin, which was one of the best graphic novels of 2022 and arguably the best TMNT read of all time. You can pair The Last Ronin with its 2023 follow-up, Lost Years. It’s the ideal time to read The Last Ronin books, as the next entry in the series, a prequel titled TMNT: The Last Ronin Lost Years – The Covers, releases November 19. While it’s not a graphic novel, we put TMNT: The Ultimate Visual History on the list below because it’s eligible for B2G1 and it’s awesome. First published in 2014, the book was updated and expanded for a fresh hardcover release in July.
Dune Collector’s Editions
The official graphic novel adaptation of Frank Herbert’s first Dune novel is eligible for B2G1 free. Part of it, at least. The adaptation is split into three books, but only the first two are included. But the first two books did get gorgeous Deluxe Collector’s Editions, and both of them are up for grabs. You can complete the series with Book 3: The Prophet for $16 (was $26). Brian Herbert, the son of Frank Herbert, co-authored the adaptation with Kevin J. Anderson. The duo have co-written numerous Dune novels, including the Prelude to Dune Trilogy, which has an ongoing graphic novel adaptation, too.
We included a box set of Frank Herbert’s original novels on the list below, too. The Dune Saga 3-Book Deluxe Hardcover Box Set released last year is truly a sight to behold. It’s a lot pricier than the other Dune books on the list, but you could pair it with another novel box set, such as the one that’s next on this list.
Stephen King’s The Dark Tower Omnibuses & Box Set
All three omnibus editions of The Dark Tower’s comic book adaptation are included in an Amazon buy two, get one free sale for the first time. Though Marvel canceled the series before it reached its actual conclusion, fans of Stephen King’s epic dark fantasy series should still read the adaptation. The Dark Tower: Beginnings Omnibus is especially cool because it acts as a prequel to the The Gunslinger, the first book in the series. If you don’t own the original novels it’s based on, The Dark Tower 8-Book Box Set is discounted to $89 and is in the B2G1 free sale, too.

Godzilla Library Collections
All three volumes in IDW’s Godzilla Library Collection are in the sale. It’s a fairly new project, as Volume 1 hit store shelves in October 2023, and Volume 2 released in April. Volume 3 is considerably more expensive since it isn’t discounted, but the reason for this is that it just launched in late September.
Absolute Batman & Deluxe Box Sets
Plenty of great Batman graphic novels and collections are up for grabs, including several very recent releases. The Batman Family: Year One Box Set, for instance, was published September 3. This slipcased box set comes with paperback editions of Batgirl: Year One, Robin: Year One, and an exclusive version of Nightwing: Year One. You could pair The Batman Family Box Set with Absolute Batman: The Killing Joke, a stunning slipcased edition of Alan Moore’s heralded origin story of The Joker. Multiple other Absolute Batman editions are also featured, including Arkham Asylum, which DC Comics released in August.
Spider-Man: Spider-Verse & Miles Morales
It’s unclear when Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will arrive, but there are plenty of cool Spider-Verse graphic novels and omnibuses to read in the meantime. Marvel’s Spider-Verse series debuted in 2014, and the best way to start reading the comic book version is with the 648-page omnibus simply titled Spider-Verse. You could pair it with Spider-Gwen: Ghost-Spider Modern Epic Collection and Spider-Verse: Across the Multiverse. A number of Miles Morales graphic novels are available for cheap, including Spider-Man: Miles Morales Vol. 1 and Straight Out of Brooklyn.
Penguin Classics Marvel Collection
Penguin Classics released a cool six-book series in 2022 dubbed Marvel Collection. Each roughly 400-page book collects the origin stories and important moments. Many of the comic books featured in these collections released in the 1960s, so if you want a (fun) history lesson, these are great, budget-friendly picks. The only book not included in the B2G1 free sale is Black Panther, but it’s available for $17 in paperback and $26 in hardcover.
Penguin Classics did a phenomenal job with the throwback cover designs on the hardcovers and more budget-friendly paperbacks. You should check both design themes out before choosing, as both versions of The Amazing Spider-Man and X-Men are eligible.
Alan Moore’s Classics
We already mentioned The Killing Joke in the Batman section above, but it’s just one of the Alan Moore-penned books in the B2G1 free sale. If you haven’t read Moore’s legendary graphic novel Watchmen (originally a miniseries), it’s available for only $14 and is eligible for B2G1 free. Considered by many critics to be the greatest graphic novel of all time, Watchmen is as close to required reading as it gets for anyone who likes comics. We included Doomsday Clock at the bottom of this list, but it’s important to note here that this DC Universe crossover was written by Geoff Johns, not Moore. Doomsday Clock is a sequel to Watchmen that takes place seven years after the original miniseries.
The hardcover edition of another all-time classic, V for Vendetta, is also featured in the promotion, as is The League of Extraordinary: The Omnibus Edition.
Inspired by Games: Dark Souls, Cyberpunk, Zelda, and More
There’s a wide variety of gaming graphic novels, art books, and encyclopedias. From Software fans can pick up the first three volumes of Bloodborne’s graphic novel adaptation in box set format as well as a single-volume collection of Dark Souls graphic novels. If you love The Legend of Zelda and don’t own Hyrule Historia and Breath of the Wild: Creating a Champion, these lore and design books are superb. CD Projekt Red fans can get Cyberpunk 2077 Library Edition and The Witcher Library Edition, hardcover comics collections.
Manga Box Sets: Tokyo Ghoul, Demon Slayer, and More
Fans of dark fantasy manga can save a lot by picking up this trio of complete series: Demon Slayer, Tokyo Ghoul, and Tokyo Ghoul: re. All told, you would get 53 paperback volumes for roughly $231, which breaks down to $4.37 per book.
