Nintendo Switch 2 Pokémon Game Codenamed “Gaia” Leaked; A Pokémon MMO Could Also Be in the Works

The Gen 10 Pokémon game will launch on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor, according to new information that was leaked online today.

A few hours ago, it was confirmed that Pokémon series developer Game Freak has been hacked, and over a terabyte of data was stolen. Included in the leak are the source code for older entries in the series, such as Black and White 2, as well as information on future projects, including the Gen 10 game codenamed Gaia that will be released on both Nintendo Switch 2 and its predecessor. In addition, the leak also confirmed that the next Nintendo console is indeed codenamed “Ounce, as previously revealed.

The next mainline entry in the Pokémon series launching on Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t the only future project that was leaked today. Game Freak is also working with ILCA on a game codenamed Synapse, a multiplayer / battle-focused game, and apparently even the MMO based on the series that fans have been waiting for a very long time.

Pokémon series developer Game Freak is only the latest game development company to get confidential information stolen and leaked online. Last year, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Ratchet and Clank series developer Insomniac suffered a ransomware attack that caused a massive leak of data ranging from personal information of employees to details of future projects.
